First Lady Joins Chinese Tai Chi Course On China Trip

First lady Michelle Obama took part in a Tai Chi course as she checked out a secondary school in the Chinese city of Chengdu on Tuesday.

“It is a really stunning type of exercise, and I loved giving it a try,” the first lady wrote in a travel journal posted on the White House website.

Obama, who is in the middle of a week-long trip around China with her daughters and mother, had earlier attended an English course at the modern school, which teaches over 40,000 students through remote knowing.

In a speech to students, the first lady discussed “the American Dream”, her own simple background and the value of freedom of expression and faith. “In America, we view these rights as universal human rights that belong to all people in all nations,” she composed.
